‘Pottery Throw Down’! 3 week evening course

Description

Do you watch the Pottery Throw Down or ghost and think, I want to try that! Well, you can
with these taster throwing sessions in which you will explore the techniques of throwing on
a wheel.
During the 3 week course (2 weeks teaching and one week to practice) you will learn how to wedge and prepare balls of clay and then have
lots of time to practice the basics of throwing, centring your clay, pulling and then shaping
clay to make cylinders and bowls.  You will then learn how to trim and make handles and finally glazing.  Your pieces will be bisque fired and then final firing after which you can amaze your friends and family with your own collection of pottery.

£85 per person which includes all materials, two firings, glaze plus refreshments.  Timing for each session is 6.00-8.00pm.  Once you have completed this course you are welcome to take part in our Clay Club Thursday evening sessions where you can practice slab or throw down.

(Aprons are provided but please wear appropriate clothing and take off any jewellery as clay can very messy.)
There will be a maximum of 7 people attending this course, each with their own dedicated potter’s wheel.  Suitable for Adults and older Children.

The course costs above depending if you have attended before or not –  including materials.
This course takes place on various dates – please see below and runs 6.30-8pm each week
