Learn to Sew with a Sewing Machine
Join us for a fun and unique one-off sewing class! Whether the children have a sewing machine or not (yet!), this class is designed to get them started on their sewing journey. By the end, they will be eager to sew much more. This class is loved by both boys and girls!
In our 2 hour class, the children will:
- Learn about the basic parts of the sewing machine
- Discover how to set up and thread the machine
- Master the basic stitches needed to sew in straight lines, pivot, and turn corners
- Experiment with some decorative stitches
- Use the new skills to create a simple project – a tote bag
- Be presented with a Sewing Machine Driving Licence Certificate!
This workshop takes place in our Sewing School. We have brand new Janome sewing machines for them to use, plus all the other tools, equipment and sewing ‘notions’.
All patterns, notions and workshop is provided within the cost. Refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop. Parents/carers are welcome to stay in our reception area or come back later for the certificate presentation!
22nd August 2-4pm £30 including all materials and certificate
30th October 10-12 noon £30 including all materials and certificate
This workshop takes place upstairs in our new sewing school and I’m afraid we do not have a lift. We do have a toilet and refreshment station upstairs.
